General Foreman – Insulation

The General Foreman responsibility is to ensure the delivery of projects safely, on time, and within budget, and with quality workmanship that conforms to project plans and specifications. This position will be responsible for safety, schedule, assignment and supervision of crew, work performance, material procurement planning, and quality control of the work at the jobsites.


  • Effectively and strategically plan all insulation field production activities; provide assistance to the Foremen in planning the jobs, tools, materials, budgets, and manpower.
  • Work with appropriate Project Managers and Superintendents to establish project goals and monitor success in reaching those objectives on an ongoing basis.
  • Achieve objectives by effectively managing and assigning responsibilities to the Foremen and crews to ensure jobs are completed on time and work is performed according to California Drywall production, quality, and safety standards.
  • Oversee workforce planning by providing adequate daily manpower to optimize the department through hiring, training, and scheduling Foremen.
  • Manage, coach, motivate, guide, and develop a dynamic team of Foremen for multiple job-sites simultaneously to include, but not limited to, providing performance feedback, career development, promotion, disciplining, etc.
  • Responsible for implementation, enforcement of and compliance with all aspects of California Drywall Health and Safety program and will maintain knowledge of all aspects of the company’s IIPP and Code of Safe Work Practices.
  • Conduct periodic safety inspections of job sites to maintain compliance with the company’s IIPP, Code of Safe Work Practices, Cal/OSHA and other regulatory safety requirements.
  • Interpret plans, blueprints, and sketches of proposed projects.
  • Proactively drive work progress to meet deadlines, allocated budgets, and quality standards.
  • Review and monitor labor efficiencies and hours. Project the labor needs for the duration of the project.
  • Monitor codes and specifications, and installation methods.
  • Prepare, review, distribute and/or maintain all required installation documentation and reports.
  • Work with Project Managers to track and monitor material costs, storage, consumed and ordered.
  • Utilize a proactive approach to anticipate, assess, and resolve any potential changes and issues.
  • Share any production delays, changes, deficiencies, or other problems as they arise with Project Management team, inspectors, etc.
  • Communicate effectively with a wide range of individuals including Project Owners, General Contractors, Project Management team, Foremen, etc.
  • Ensure the proper safety equipment, materials and tools are onsite to perform required work.
  • Adhere to project contract document changes and California Drywall change order notice-to-proceed policies.
  • Lead by example in a professional manner, be a role model for Foremen, and challenge and motivate all employees to achieve excellence.
  • Adhere to all California Drywall, Federal, State, and Local regulations, policies, and procedures as well as contract codes.
  • Conduct all business in a professional, positive, and ethical manner with all trades, clients, contractors, vendors, and co-workers maximize effectiveness, efficiency, and profit of the company.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.


  • 3-5 years of experience as General Foreman – insulation division.
  • 3-5 years of experience supervising Foremen and cross-functional teams.
  • Completion of a certified apprentice program.
  • Certified in: OSHA 30, MEWPs, forklifts, commissioning test equipment.
  • Minimum High School Diploma/GED required; Associate Degree or higher preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license and DMV printout.
  • Drug testing clearance.


  • Proven experience as construction General Foreman.
  • Experience in construction and maintenance of commercial and/or industrial facilities.
  • Knowledge of scheduling, material lead times, product knowledge and installation durations.
  • Ability to read and interpret design drawings, specifications, and diagrams.
  • In-depth knowledge of construction procedures, equipment, and OSH guidelines.
  • Excellent communication to provide instructions and training to workers.
  • Strong relationship management and interpersonal skills – effectively builds consensus and works with others to achieve desired results and objectives.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and experience with complex transactions with little supervision.
  • Excellent computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite applications.
  • Excellent time management, prioritizing, follow-up skills. Experience with multi-tasking.
  • Strong organizational, planning and time management skills.
  • The ability to solve math problems quickly and accurately.
  • Physical demands:
    • Standing/Climbing/Mobility
    • Lifting/Pulling/Pushing 50 lbs.
    • Manual dexterity, eye-hand coordination, physical fitness, and a good sense of balance are important.


  • Jobsites / Warehouse / Office work environment with exposure to different noises, dust, temperature, etc.
  • Travel is required to different job sites on a daily basis.
