Industrial Maintenance Mechanic
August 24, 2021GENERAL SUMMARY:
The Industrial Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for maintaining the production and quality of press brakes, roll forming lines, laser & plasma cutters, stud rollers and other large manufacturing production equipment and machinery.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Ensure the operations of industrial machinery by troubleshooting, performing regular services and maintenance procedures. Equipment and machinery including but not limited to:
- Press Brakes – Ermaksan (6’, 12’, and 20’) and Baileigh 8’
- Roll Forming Lines – Samco and Framecad
- Laser – Trumpf 2030
- Plasma Tables – Lincoln 4’x 4’ and 4’ x 10’
- Conduct visual, auditory, electrical, mechanical, and operational inspections to identify signs of excessive wear, defects, and damages.
- Maintain and care for machinery and equipment by cleaning after each use, adjusting parts and lubricating moving components as needed to ensure proper and efficient function.
- Perform quick and accurate diagnoses, troubleshoot problems, and repair malfunction.
- Assemble, dismantle, and install machine parts as necessary.
- Fabricate parts for repairs and machine upgrades.
- Conduct quality assurance standards to determine proper repairs and maintenance, and safe operation of equipment and machinery.
- Conduct testing to identify problems using the necessary precision measuring and testing instruments.
- Research problems via repair manuals, manufacturer’s instructions, schematics, etc. and identify repair equipment.
- Record all maintenance and repair services performed and keep track of all materials and parts used during the repair process.
- Conserve maintenance resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish the job.
- Perform material handling responsibilities of part orders – receiving, pulling orders, inventory, and shipping as necessary.
- Clearly communicate with Management regarding the status of the assignments and potential issues.
- Set an efficient work pace that maintains high quality work while meeting the needs of the department.
- Provide mechanical maintenance information by answering questions and responding to requests.
- Prepare mechanical maintenance reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
- Maintain an organized and clean appearance of all work areas.
- Comply with all safe work practices, policies, and processes and act in a safe manner at all times.
- Adhere to all applicable policies, procedures, and standards.
- Promote a team approach and participate in the improvement of California Drywall.
- Maintain technical knowledge by attending job-related educational workshops.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING
- 2+ years of related work experience.
- Some knowledge of inspection and troubleshooting experience with industrial manufacturing machinery is required.
- High school diploma or GED is required.
- Advanced technical certificate or college training preferred.

- Possess advanced working knowledge of troubleshooting skills for industrial machinery.
- Ability to use all necessary hand, power, and specialized tools properly, safely, and efficiently.

- Ability to read and follow written and oral instructions.

WORK LOCATION:
Approximately 90% at the Santa Clara Warehouse and 10% at the Atwater Warehouse.
