Marketing Director

GENERAL SUMMARY:

Marketing Director is responsible for the company’s marketing and communications, including brand strategy, marketing strategy and corporate identity. Working directly with the Vice President of Corporate Services, the Marketing Director will be responsible for building and managing the Marketing team and managing outside consultants and agencies Marketing Director will be the leader and visionary for company marketing.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead and refine the company’s brand strategy and corporate identity.
  • Develop and execute annual marketing strategy and plans, including budget.
  • Oversee creative needs with oversight across all platforms, including print and digital design, advertising campaigns, video content, social media, collateral, presentation materials, public relations, and event sponsorship.
  • Oversee the design and production of all communications material including company web site, email newsletters, print and digital collateral, social media, digital presentations, print/digital invitations, and press releases.
  • Develop and manage the organization’s social media presence including developing quarterly plans and content with marketing team and outside vendor support.
  • Manage and measure marketing campaign costs and effectiveness with use of pre-determined KPIs.
  • Work with the business development teams on business development pursuits and initiatives.
  • Analyze local media landscape and develop local media strategy (print and digital).
  • Analyze local marketing needs and remain up to date on local real estate and construction market trends, forecasts, account analyses, and the competitive landscape to inform the evolution of the company’s marketing presence.
  • Manage a marketing team – develop a high performance, and customer‐oriented work team, through hiring, motivating, coaching, appraising, rewarding & disciplining, and addressing complaints and resolving issues related to staff.
  • Adhere to and ensure all team members comply with all applicable company policies, procedures, and standards.
  • Attend training and maintain knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and marketing technologies.
  • Work, develop, and collaborate with employees and vendors at all levels to move toward win-win solutions.
  • Other work-related duties as assigned.

EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Graphic Design, Journalism, or related field.
  • 8+ years’ previous experience in a marketing or branding role; agency, creative and or A/E/C experience preferred.
  • Strong working knowledge of creative programs such as InDesign and Photoshop a plus.
  • Proficient in Social Media platforms (LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter).
  • Knowledge of HubSpot.

  • Create appropriate level of structure as needed to optimize the department and business.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite applications and marketing technologies.
  • Strong relationship management and interpersonal skills – effectively builds consensus and works with others to achieve desired results and objectives.
  • Create appropriate level of staffing structure as needed to optimize to deliver marketing requirements.
  • Ability to be resourceful and proactive when issues arise.

WORKING LOCATION / CONDITIONS:

  • San Jose Corporate Office.
  • Office work environment with exposure to different noises, dust, temperature, and the like.
  • Local travel may be required.
