California Drywall is seeking a Safety Manager

The Safety Manager assists in the development, coordination and execution of company‐wide and project specific safety program and works to ensure the safety of employees, subcontractors, vendors and the public. This involves enforcing California Drywall’s Environmental, Health and Safety Policy as well as local and federal safety standards company‐wide, and on jobsites. In addition, the Safety Manager conducts training for project employees to develop safe work plans for all project phases and tasks. The successful candidate will exemplify safety as a value.


  • Assist the Safety Director in coordination and execution of company‐wide and project specific safety program.
  • Be a resource for General Foremen, Foremen and field labor, helping them focus on safety risks and solutions on their projects.
  • Enforce corporate and project specific safety and health programs as well as federal, state, and local safety standards.
  • Conduct safety training and testing for all employees (Fall Protection, Scaffold, MEWPS, First Aid, etc.).
  • Perform project safety audits.
  • Meet with General Contractors and field personnel in response to identified deficiencies and assist them in the development of project corrective action plans.
  • Perform constant follow‐up to ensure employees are following safety requirements.
  • Perform investigations of injury and loss incidents, identify causal factors, develop and implement measures to prevent recurrence, and ensure long‐term resolution.
  • Assist with injury case management; coordination with Risk Manager.
  • Facilitate California Drywall’s “return to work program.
  • Advocates safety at California Drywall. Adheres to all applicable safety policies, procedures and standards.
  • Works within and promotes corporate vision, mission, and values of the organization.
  • Performs other duties and functions as required or assigned.

  • Fluent in Spanish and English.
  • Associates Degree (AA) or equivalent from two‐year College or technical school; or 3+ years related safety experience; or a combination equivalent.
  • Understanding of OSHA, Cal‐OSHA, and other standards and regulations as it specifically relates to the construction industry.
  • Safety/Industrial Hygiene Certification (STSC, CHST, and/or CSP).
  • OHSA 30‐hour.
  • Competent person certification in Fall Protection, MEWPS, Scaffolds.
  • Experience in providing safety oversight on construction projects of varying sizes.
  • Proficient with computer, iPad, smart phone, software programs, and other technologies.
  • Excellent written and verbal skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
  • Ability to work with all construction groups—management, owners, general contractors, trades and subcontractors.
  • Ability to navigate through active construction sites.
  • Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving history.
  • Able to obtain additional professional certifications as required.


  • OSHA 500, OSHA 501 Bilingual (Spanish)
  • Trainer Fall Protection, MEWPS, and Scaffold.
