Safety/Risk Coordinator

The Safety/Risk Coordinator works to help the Risk Management Director ensure the company is in compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local health and safety guidelines and regulations. In addition, the Safety/Risk Coordinator supports the Safety Team by providing office support and helps to coordinate safety training for field personnel. Successful candidates will exemplify safety as a value.


  • Help Risk Management Director update safety and training records and certifications for company employees.
  • Scan training sign-in sheets and tests, and name/file in the right folders in ShareFile. Catalog Fall Protection Inspection Sheets.
  • Provide access to training certifications to project teams as needed.
  • Send reminder emails for upcoming trainings. Prepare sign-in sheets and then collect, scan, and email to appropriate recipients.
  • Order and coordinate delivery of food for training classes held in San Jose office.
  • Coordinate and maintain registrations, payment, and documentation for client-specific external project and training databases (e.g. ClickSafety, eMod)
  • Attend safety meetings and compile agendas and notes.
  • Assist Risk Management Director with gathering investigative information/documentation for jobsite and vehicle incidents and accidents.
  • Maintain accuracy of occupational clinic listings for each county in the areas of jobsites.
  • Respond to requests for safety statistics and assist with completion of Prequals.
  • Assist with completion of JHAs, SSSPs, and QA/QC Plans.
  • Coordinate professional safety organization (e.g. BCSP) training and exams for Safety Team and GFs.
  • Keep California Drywall current with annual (and any mid-year changes to) employment law posters for offices, warehouses, and jobsites where California Drywall has trailers. Ensure compliance with changes to posting requirements.
  • Follow up with various newsletter participants and gather newsletter entries to prepare for final edits.
  • Sort handouts for Foremen’s Meetings.
  • Order/replenish training supplies as needed.
  • Prepare vehicle accident kits.
  • Print/photocopy cert card templates and training materials for Safety Team.
  • Order and sort new safety vests, t-shirts, and any other clothing items ordered.
  • Laminate and distribute new cert cards at safety fairs.
  • Adhere to all applicable health and safety regulations and Company’s policies and procedures.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.


  • Fluent in Spanish and English.
  • Associates Degree (AA) or equivalent from two-year College or technical school; or 3-6 years related experience and/or training; or a combination equivalent.
  • OSHA 30-hour for Construction.
  • Understanding of OSHA, state, federal, and local regulations, and client requirements.


  • Excellent verbal and written skills to communicate effectively with internal employees and clients.
  • Ability to work positively and respond promptly to requests, needs and concerns.
  • Proficient with computer, iPad, smart phone, software programs, and other technologies.
  • Excellent computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong sense of discretion and confidentiality required.
  • Recognize problems, identify possible causes, and resolve routine problems.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to work collaboratively with employees and external parties in a positive, professional, effective, and courteous manner.
  • Excellent time management, prioritizing, follow-up skills. Experience with multi-tasking.
  • Ability to be resourceful and proactive when issues arise.
  • Work with accuracy, efficiency, and attention to detail.
  • Work safely in compliance with all safety policies.
  • Must set standards of excellence in safety.
