Kaiser Santa Clara Hospital Phase 1
Healthcare
The Kaiser Santa Clara Replacement Campus was built to replace a 50+ year old hospital and medical campus two miles away. The hospital was built in two phases, but the building was designed to ultimately function as a single facility. Phase I of the Hospital consisted of a 297,000 square-foot one-story below grade, 3-story above grade structure with the central plant in the basement. It included a 26-bed neonatal intensive care unit and an eight-bed pediatric intensive care unit. The unit also has 12 labor and delivery rooms and 28 private rooms for postpartum mothers. An emergency department with 26 emergency treatment rooms and six minor injury rooms included a 14-bed Clinical Decision Unit adjacent to the emergency department.
