Designed to promote collaboration and innovation, the four-floor, 80,000 square foot, open lab and office space joined four of AstraZeneca’s business units into one facility. The design puts science on display through transparent, integrated lab, office, and public spaces. Glass-fronted labs allow employees and visitors to view research activities from the public spaces. Central gathering spaces in the center of each floor serve as employee hubs. A lower-level multipurpose conference and lounge area accommodates shared activities. Adjustable desks with ergonomic chairs, treadmill-equipped team rooms, and an on-campus gym support the health and wellness of AstraZeneca’s people. The sustainably designed facility reflects the company’s commitment to minimizing the environmental footprint of products and processes.
