Bay Area Headquarters Authority

Photographer: Blake Marvin

A six-floor renovation in an 8-story, 477,000 square foot building turned into headquarters for several Bay Area Regional government agencies. The most distinctive and unexpected treasure – a new, soaring atrium – lies at the center. Within the atrium, terraces for informal gathering are perched near large, open coffee bars. The tenant improvement included library, offices and support spaces, data center, and fitness room. At the lower levels, a large room for commission hearings, multiple conference rooms, breakout spaces, a bike storage area, and retail provide amenities for the future.
