San Francisco International Airport – Terminal 3 Boarding Area E

Photographer: Joe Fletcher

The Terminal 3, Boarding Area E project includes the expansion and upgrade of Boarding Area E to meet the changing needs of the Airport and its airline partners. The project involved complete demolition of the existing boarding area from the concourse level up, and a 30,000 square foot expansion of the concourse  to accommodate more gates and provide a spacious array of waiting and concessions spaces.

The 102,000 square foot project includes 37,000 square feet of offices and airport facilities on the ground level, while the 65,000 square foot departure level houses ten United Airlines gates, four restaurants, eight stores, a yoga room, private dressing rooms, high-tech gate lounges and an interactive children’s play area all of which reflect an innovative airport design strategy and provide a truly unparalleled travel experience.
