A new 91,000 square foot, 2-floor cruise terminal facility for up to 4,000 passengers. The first phase of the project, including the terminal structure, was completed in May 2013 to become the “Race Village” for the 2013 America’s Cup Finals and the Challenger Series. The second phase completed after the America’s Cup races included office spaces designated for the US Dept. of Homeland Security and US Customs and Border Protection, and a secured lobby. The terminal is equipped to manage security protocols similar to an airport, the ultimate function of the building is to welcome and service huge, three-thousand-plus passenger cruise ships.The main waiting and customs areas also serve as a special event facility on non-cruise days.
